Arizona Cardinals sign Super Bowl hero Josh Sweat

Here the Cardinals use Jonathan Gannon’s connection to the Philadelphia Eagles to land one of the top pass-rushers in free agency. Gannon coached Sweat for two seasons in Philadelphia and after the pass-rusher recorded 10.5 sacks while helping win a Super Bowl, he’ll be in high demand. The soon-to-be 28-year-old would immediately become the team’s top pass-rusher.

Atlanta Falcons sign Haason Reddick and D.J. Reed

The Falcons hired former Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich to be their defensive coordinator, and why not bring a pair of his players with him? Atlanta needs upgrades at edge rusher and cornerback so if Reddick and Reed enjoyed their time under Ulbrich, he could convince the front office to pay up.

Baltimore Ravens trade for DK Metcalf

While Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry carry the Ravens’ rushing offense, they could use another weapon opposite Zay Flowers. While Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews are great complementary pieces, DK Metcalf would give the Ravens another threat downfield. Headed into the last year of his contract, Metcalf could become available if extension talks break down.

Buffalo Bills trade for Jeffery Simmons

The Bills keep getting close to a Super Bowl appearance, but they’re missing a few pieces. One way that could help them narrow the gap is by upgrading the defensive interior. Getting Jeffery Simmons would give the Bills a game-wrecking defensive tackle capable of changing momentum on any given snap.

Carolina Panthers sign Chris Godwin

Last offseason, the Panthers hired Dave Canales from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This offseason, the Panthers will have a chance to sign pending free agent Chris Godwin, who worked with Canales in Tampa. While Godwin has to play second fiddle to Mike Evans with the Bucs, he’d be Carolina’s No. 1 option, which could be just enough to get him to jump ship.

Chicago Bears sign Pro Bowl guard Trey Smith

Bears general manager Ryan Poles is a former offensive lineman, yet no team allowed more sacks than Chicago last year. Meanwhile, new head coach Ben Johnson had one of the NFL’s best offensive lines in Detroit, so we expect Chicago to invest more up front. There’s no better way than signing the best offensive lineman in NFL free agency. With a Pro Bowl guard like Trey Smith, the Bears’ offense should be able to take a leap forward in 2025.

Cincinnati Bengals sign Zack Martin, keep Tee Higgins and Trey Hendrickson

The Bengals need to address a defense that ranked 25th in points allowed, but reinforcing the offensive line is also important. As Joe Burrow recently said, the Bengals should be able to get creative enough to carve out enough space to re-sign Tee Higgins, make Trey Hendrickson happy and still add an upgrade along the offensive line like future Hall of Famer Zack Martin.

Cleveland Browns sign Kirk Cousins, keep Myles Garrett, draft Travis Hunter

The Browns need to solve their quarterback problem, even if it’s a short term solution. Kirk Cousins has had his ups and downs, but he can pick up where he left off with former coach Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland and lead a competent effort. Meanwhile, if the Browns can draft two-way star Travis Hunter and convince Myles Garrett they can be competitive, Cleveland might have a shot at returning to the playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys trade for Breece Hall

Rico Dowdle may return, but the Cowboys still need more explosiveness in their backfield. Having clocked a 4.39-second 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine, Breece Hall would fit the bill. Heading into the final year of his contract, the Jets may prefer trading Hall rather than paying a player that the new regime isn’t invested in.

Detroit Lions trade for Denzel Ward

The Lions have had recent success adding veterans from outside the organization who can make a quick impact. This time they could turn to the trade market to help replace pending free agent Carlton Davis. Trading for Denzel Ward, a former first-round pick with four Pro Bowl nods to his name, could help shore up Detroit’s secondary for years to come.

Green Bay Packers trade for Maxx Crosby

After reaching the playoffs in Jordan Love’s first two seasons as a starter, now the Packers need to figure out how their young core can leap to the next level. Trading for a former Defensive Player of the Year finalist like Maxx Crosby could do the trick, taking the Packers from fringe contenders to a top threat in the NFC.

Houston Texans trade for Davante Adams

Davante Adams will likely need a new home this offseason thanks to having a $38.3 million cap hit in 2025. Meanwhile, joining the Texans while they’re waiting for Nico Collins to return from injury could work out well for both parties.
Indianapolis Colts trade for Kyle Pitts

The Colts need to do everything they can to help Anthony Richardson become more consistent. Drafting a rookie could help in the long run, but the Colts may not have the patience to wait for his development. Meanwhile, if they’re willing to make an offer too good to refuse for a potential superstar like Kyle Pitts, Indianapolis absolutely has to consider it.
Jacksonville Jaguars trade for Jaire Alexander

The Jaguars need to find multiple secondary upgrades this offseason. Drafting a rookie or two could help, but they’ll still need a highly capable veteran to help show the newcomers the ropes. Meanwhile, the Jaguars recently hired former Packers linebackers coach/run game coordinator Anthony Campanile, who may be able to put in a good word for Jaire Alexander’s character and work ethic.

Kansas City Chiefs sign Ronnie Stanley

The Chiefs got exposed in Super Bowl LIX, where Patrick Mahomes was forced to run for his life against a potent Eagles pass-rush. One way the Chiefs can address their weakness is by signing former All-Pro Ronnie Stanley, which would allow Joe Thuney to move back to his natural position at left guard.

Las Vegas Raiders sign Sam Darnold

The Raiders desperately need a quarterback upgrade this offseason and there’s no better option available than Sam Darnold. He’s coming off his best season yet, and being able to bend Tom Brady’s ear could help him maintain success. Yet, the Raiders will have to reinforce the offensive line and establish a consistent rushing attack too.

Los Angeles Chargers draft Colston Loveland, trade for Cooper Kupp

Jim Harbaugh loves his former Michigan players and the Chargers could add another in the first round of this year’s draft with tight end Colston Loveland. He’d give Justin Herbert a big target in the red zone, meanwhile, Cooper Kupp could help pick up a few extra first downs in LA too.
Los Angeles Rams trade up and draft tight end Tyler Warren

Miami Dolphins draft S Malaki Starks and G Tyler Booker

Getting even one of these prospects should feel like a win, but addressing two key needs with top talents? That would qualify the Dolphins as draft weekend winners. Starks is viewed as the best safety in the draft, and with Jevon Holland ready for free agency, he’d be a much more affordable replacement. Meanwhile, Booker would upgrade the offensive interior for Tua Tagovailoa.

Minnesota Vikings trade for DeForest Buckner

The Vikings have concerns along the offensive interior, but their defensive interior is arguably just as big of a weakness. Trading for a proven pass-rushing menace like DeForest Buckner would solve the problem in the short term, buying the Vikings more time to find a long-term fix.

New England Patriots trade for George Pickens

The Patriots have a couple of young receivers in development, but Drake Maye is ready to produce now. Meanwhile, the Steelers have had some internal issues with George Pickens and now he’s eligible for an extension. Pittsburgh could prefer to capitalize on Pickens’ trade value and New England would probably appreciate adding a target who can be a bonafide WR1.
New Orleans Saints sign Amari Cooper

Once again, the Saints have cap issues, so just getting back to zero will be a nice accomplishment. Yet, this team still need to find ways to improve so they’ll have to stick to finding more affordable options in free agency. Amari Cooper could qualify since he’s coming off a down season in Buffalo, but he could be in for a bounce-back year playing with Derek Carr again.

New York Jets sign Jameis Winston, trade for Hendon Hooker

The Jets would love to find a QB of the future but they probably won’t find one with the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Yet, they still need to upgrade the position. Jameis Winston would give them a strong-armed QB who can cut through the New York winds and give the offense a high floor. Meanwhile, Hendon Hooker has yet to get a chance to show what he can do, but former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn may have seen enough in practice to want Hooker on the Jets as a safety valve who could become a starter.

Pittsburgh Steelers sign Aaron Rodgers, trade for Deebo Samuel

The Steelers need to find a way to upgrade their offense this offseason. They could still bring back Justin Fields, but can he lead a high-level passing attack? If so, he’s yet to prove it. However, Aaron Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP and even though his best days are behind him, Mike Tomlin’s defenses always come to play and Rodgers should be able to do just enough to ensure they return to the playoffs for a 19th consecutive season.
San Francisco 49ers pay Brock Purdy average of $40 million per season

Dak Prescott, the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback, makes an annual average salary of $61.6 million. Brock Purdy is entering the final year of his rookie contract and negotiations on an extension are expected to take place this offseason. Some project he’ll get paid anywhere between $55 and $60 million. Yet, what if he sacrifices his own income in an effort to help the 49ers build a stronger roster capable of competing for a Super Bowl?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign Chase Young and Dre Greenlaw

The Buccaneers will need some defensive replacements and reinforcements and they can’t exactly pay top dollar. Yet, that doesn’t mean they can’t still add some impact players. Chase Young had a mini-bounceback season in 2024, recording 5.5 sacks after playing in all 17 games but starting none. He has double-digit sack potential if used correctly and Todd Bowles may be perfect for the job. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw also has Pro Bowl potential and if he can return to health, Tampa Bay could upgrade over pending free agent Lavonte David.
Tennessee Titans trade away No. 1 pick in 2025 NFL Draft

There’s no consensus prospect projected to be drafted No. 1 overall, but the Titans will have their options. They could select quarterbacks Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, or go defense with pass-rusher Abdul Carter. Of course, two-way superstar Travis Hunter would be useful on both sides of the ball, but the Titans could always get an offer that’s too strong to refuse and opt to build for the future too.

Washington Commanders sign Khalil Mack, trade into top 15 of 2025 NFL Draft

The Commanders could make a few significant upgrades in free agency or by trade. They could also stack up draft capital and aggressively move up for one of the top prospects on their draft board. Having a superstar quarterback on an inexpensive rookie quarterback allows the Commanders to have a really big offseason, if they plan it right.
