Originally, Texas was planned to face off against Oklahoma at 12 p.m. EST on Saturday, Oct. 12 but the kick off time has now been changed to 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC or ESPN, per Brett McMurphy.
Oklahoma defeated Texas in last season’s matchup, 34-30 with former Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel going off for 285 passing yards and 113 yards on the ground. Gabriel transferred to Oregon in December.
This game marks the first matchup between both schools as SEC opponents.

This highly anticipated match up is between two teams that finished ranked in the Top 15 for the Final AP Top 25 Poll in 2023.
Texas will look to return to the College Football Playoff with Quinn Ewers returning, as he threw for 3,479 yards, along with 22 touchdowns. He ranked No. 17 in the country in QBR with an average rating of 78.3.
With Gabriel leaving the Sooners, OU will turn to sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold, who was the 2022-23 Gatorade Player of the Year in high school.
The Longhorns lead the all time series with Oklahoma, 63-51-5. UT will open SEC play against Mississippi State on Sep. 28, whereas OU will meet its first SEC opponent on Sep. 21 as it takes on Tennessee.
