First-year general manager Darren Mougey and first-year head coach Aaron Glenn enter the 2025 NFL Draft process with the seventh overall pick. Yet, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Jets are “believed to be among the teams interested in moving up” in the NFL Draft. Furthermore, the Tennessee Titans are reportedly willing to consider trading the first overall pick.
Could the Jets and Titans find common ground, allowing New York to have their first choice of the best draft prospects available? Here are five potential trade packages that would give the Jets the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
New York Jets trade 7, 42, 2026 1st for No. 1 pick

This trade sends out the Jets’ first-round pick next year, in addition to their first and second-round picks this year. However, trading for a franchise quarterback never comes cheaply. Ultimately, if all the Jets have to do is part with two firsts plus a second for a game-changing player, they won’t care what it costs them.

Jets trade No. 7, No. 42, 2026 second, Breece Hall for No. 1 pick

Another way the Jets may be able to climb their way to the top spot is by including potential star running back Breece Hall, who’s headed into the final year of his contract. The Titans utilized Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears last season, but Hall has the higher ceiling of the three, plus Tennessee would still be getting a nice collection of draft picks. Meanwhile, the Jets can find their RB replacement in the middle rounds of the draft.

Jets trade No. 7 plus Garrett Wilson for No. 1 pick

Garrett Wilson is headed into the final year of his contract, and discussions on a long-term extension are expected this offseason. However, if the Jets can’t find common ground with their star receiver, including him in a package for the No. 1 overall pick could help the Jets hold onto more draft assets. Yet, they’d have to get creative in finding a new No. 1 wideout.

Jets trade No. 7, 146, 2026 second-round pick, plus Jermaine Johnson for No. 1 pick

Another way the Jets may be able to catapult their way to the top pick on the board is by packaging one of their young pass-rushers. Will McDonald may have more value since he’s coming off a breakout 10.5 sack season. Yet, the Jets may prefer to trade Jermaine Johnson who was limited to just two games due to injury last season and will likely be negotiating an extension next offseason.

Jets trade No. 7 plus Quinnen Williams for No. 1 pick

The Titans don’t even need Quinnen Williams. They already have Jeffery Simmons plus T’Vondre Sweat up the middle. However, they could trade Simmons elsewhere to recuperate even more draft capital and upgrade their three-time Pro Bowl DT to another three-time Pro Bowl DT who also has an All-Pro nod in his resume. The biggest issue here is, how would the Jets replace their best player in the trenches?
