Golden State Speed: California’s fastest football recruits

Donovan Dunmore, ’26, DB, Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan- Dunmore is a very intriguing corner prospect with length and speed. He has an athletic 6-0 frame and owns personal bests of 10.57-100m, 21.47-200m and ran on the schools 4X100m relay team that qualified for state and owns season best time of 41.55. 

Toa Faavae, ’25, QB, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle- Faave can fly and had personal best 10.58-100m and ran on the Spartans 4X100m relay team that clocked a 40.83. 

Osani Gayles, ’27, ATH, Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary’s- Gayles was part of the St. Mary’s 4X100 relay team that finished 3rd in the state. He also ran a 10.76-100m and long jumped 22’11”.

Ishmael Gibbs, ’25, DB, West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade- Gibbs could blow up this summer and has a nice skill set to go with the blazing speed. He clocked a 10.62-100m, 22.04-200m and ran on the schools 4X100m relay team that finished 5th in the state meet with a 41.08 time. 

Kiontre Harris, ’24, DB, Leeore (Calif.)- The Fresno State signee had a very strong season with personal best 10.53-100m, 21.76-200m and a 22’10” long jump. Look for the speed corner to compete for playing time right away. 

Paul Kuhner, ’24, ATH, Lafayett (Calif.) Acalanes- Kuhner signed with Princeton and was a steal for the Tigers. He’s one of fastest players in the state and clocked a 10.36-100m this Spring. 

Jase Nix, ’25, WR, San Marcos (Calif.)- Nix committed earlier today to San Jose State. He’s an explosive slot receiver who clocked a personal best 10.68-100m this Spring. 

Steele Pizzella, ’25, QB, Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame- Pizzella is among the fastest quarterback in the country. He clocked a 10.64-100m, multiple sub 10.80 times and was a part of the schools 4X100m relay team that finished 4th in the state with a 40.97 time. 

Jalen Ross, ’25, WR, Downey (Calif.) Warren- Ross is the younger brother of Colorado State signee Jordan Ross and has a similar skill set on the football field. He ran a 10.88-100m this Spring and plays even faster with the ball in his hands. 

Donte Wright, ’27, DB, Long Beach Poly (Calif.)- Wright is a really good looking young safety prospect with a ton of upside. He anchored Poly’s 4x100m relay team that finished 2nd at the State meet with a 40.80 time and had personal best of 11.03-100m.
