Colorado Football Called Out on X for Alleged Tampering

There’s never a dull moment in the never-ending world of college football recruiting. And on Wednesday night, Colorado State University Pueblo coach Philip Vigil called out the NCAA and the Big 12 in a post on X, alleging the Colorado Buffaloes were tampering with one of his players.

Here’s the exchange Coach Vigil shared, redacting the name of the player involved, but clearly calling out Devin Rispress, the assistant director of player personnel at Colorado.

Here’s the exchange.

Rispress is a former FCS Recruiter of the Year at Florida A&M, and he joined joined the Buffaloes this offseason.

The Buffaloes have taken an untraditional approach to recruiting in many respects, with Shilo Sanders recruiting players in the transfer portal via his social media pages. While different, it’s not a violation, that’s more just a sign of the times.

But texting with a full commit who is already apparently locked into another school? That’s a different situation, which clearly pissed off Coach Vigil and led to him putting CU on blast on social media.

What now? We wait for any kind of response from Colorado, the Big 12 or the NCAA, all of which who were tagged in the post, but have yet to respond or comment.
