Elite 11 rep heaps praise on five-star Ohio State QB commit

The Elite 11 is the premier showcase for young quarterback recruits, and, more often than not, quarterbacks who have impressed the Elite 11 scouts have gone on to have successful college and even NFL careers.

The Elite 11 considers quarterbacks such as Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Stroud alumni, among many others.

That’s why it’s a big deal when a young quarterback receives praise from the Elite 11 ranks, and that’s exactly the situation for five-star Ohio State commitment Tavien St. Clair.

The highly touted prospect has really impressed Elite 11 head of events, Brian Stumpf.

Stumpf has seen a ton of great quarterbacks come through Elite 11, and in St. Clair, he sees a player who already has a college-ready skill set as just a rising senior in high school.

“They’re getting one of the most polished pocket passers in this year’s class, without a doubt,” Stumpf said of St. Clair on On3’s Inside Scoop recruiting show. “And to your point of him not being talked about [enough], I think this past weekend was some of the first 7-on-7. He’s not a guy that’s out there every weekend and really current in the rundowns, and articles and top performers at the various 7-on-7 events. But again, he performs on the field and on Friday night lights, first and foremost.”

St. Clair is a known baller, having thrown for 3,083 yards, 37 touchdowns and six interceptions in 2023 while also rushing for 352 yards and four touchdowns for Bellefontaine High School.

The recruiting rankings are also high on St. Clair, so OSU can be pretty confident that he’ll be a big-time addition if his commitment holds true for the rest of the 2025 cycle.

Per 247Sports, St. Clair is the No. 2 quarterback in the nation as well as the No. 6 overall recruit in his class.
