It was a big-time recruiting showdown for four-star running back Deandre Desinore from Delray Beach, Florida.
He boasts over 30 offers and has a strong recruiting profile, ranked as the No. 17 running back in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports composite.
In-state Florida State as well as Louisville were two of the top contenders for Desinore, alongside Colorado and Oregon. Ultimately, he chose to go with the coaching staff at West Virginia over any of his other options.
Per 247Sports, Desinor has been a top target for WVU ever since the Mountaineers offered him. He’s also been around the program a bunch, having taken visits for a Junior Day this past February and an official visit this past weekend.
That all led to a commitment, with offensive coordinator Chad Scott and lead recruiter Bilal Marshall (assistant wideouts coach) leading the way
“I had a great time at West Virginia when I was up there for Junior Day on Feb. 3,” Desinor had told On3 in March. “They have shown they want me, they are recruiting me hard and I loved it up there.
“My favorite part of the visit was watching film with coach Chad Scott. He has developed CJ Donaldson and Jahiem White and how he coached them and used them really caught my eye. He is a great coach, how comfortable I felt on the visit and the way they recruit me so hard has them No. 1 on my list.”
WVU was No. 1 coming into the visit and the official clearly sealed the deal for the Mountaineeers
As a junior in high school, Desinor rushed 67 times for 674 yards and 10 touchdowns as he split time in the backfield for Plantation American Heritage. He transferred to Delray Beach Atlantic for his senior season in 2024 and will presumably be in a starring role.
Notably, Desinor is also a stellar track runner who qualified for the Adidas Outdoor Nationals as a freshman.
