Two new 4-stars, scouting notes, a dozen new ratings

Fort Bend (Texas) Willowridge’s Royce Wilson recently became UTEP’s first 2025 commitment, and he’s a good one. Wilson checks multiple desired boxes, including three-sport participation, heavy two-way snaps, and requisite physical stature for his projected position. That projected role is edge, though Wilson — who debuted this week on 247Sports with a three-star 85 rating — could potentially bulk into a more traditional full-time defensive lineman, as well. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder owns plus length, respectable shot put and discus prowess, and baseball experience. Facing Class 5A competition in Houston metro, Wilson caught 25 passes for 522 and seven touchdowns on more than 20 yards per reception, while collecting 63 tackles, 16 for loss, six sacks, and one interception. Group of Five programs continue to impress with their scouting ability and Wilson represents a great example of that for the Miners. — Brooks
