This past weekend was a big one for the Ohio State Buckeyes on the recruiting trail.
According to On3, nearly 12 recruits took official visits to Columbus. That’s a list that was highlighted by Dakorien Moore, a five-star wide receiver from Duncanville, Texas, but it also featured four-star running back Bo Jackson from Cleveland, Ohio and four-star EDGE Justin Hill from Cincinnati, Ohio.
As it relates to Hill, it sounds as if the official visit may have given the Buckeyes a slight edge over the other contenders for his commitment Alabama, Oregon and USC.
Per Chad Simmons of On3, Hill was leaning towards going out of state to the either of the other three options heading into the weekend, but the official visit with the Buckeyes changed everything.
“Ryan Day and the staff answered all of Hill’s questions, and they answered them to his liking,” Simmons said. Coming out of this weekend’s visit to Columbus, Ohio State looks to be the team others are now chasing. Alabama has had the buzz much of the spring, so his official visit to Tuscaloosa on June 14 is one to circle. Oregon is in this more than USC at this time, but a battle between the Crimson Tide and Buckeyes could be taking shape.”
Hill would be a massive win for Day and the Buckeyes. According to 247Sports, at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, he’s the No. 7 EDGE rusher in the 2025 class
Regarding Moore, the consensus No. 1 wide receiver recruit in 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite, it seems as if the official visit set the bar high:
