The West Virginia Mountaineers had one of the best rushing attacks in the country last season due to its strong backfield duo of Jahiem White and CJ Donaldson.
WVU ranked No. 4 in the country in rushing yards per game with an average of 228.9.
With that being said, the Mountaineers had one of the best offensive lines in the country, with former center Zach Frazier being selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As a true freshman, White’s talent was notable since his very first game in Morgantown. In the season opener against Duquesne, the former three-star prospect ran for 110 yards on just 12 carries and scored his first career touchdown.
The up-and-coming star had three games with over 130 rushing yards. In a win over Cincinnati, White finished with a career-high 204 yards on the ground, as well as a 75-yard receiving touchdown.
He showed several glimpses of being a reliable receiver in the backfield for Neal Brown’s offense, alongside Donaldson and quarterback Garrett Greene. To cap off his freshman campaign, White finished with 842 yards (7.7 per carry), 125 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns.
WVU finished the 2023 season 9-4, highlighted with a Duke’s Mayo Bowl victory over North Carolina.
