The Miami Dolphins are now officially on the clock.

Yes, they gave Jaylen Waddle a well-deserved contract extension, but he’s not their only young star looking to get paid.

There has been plenty of talk about whether they should pay Tua Tagovailoa or not, but the fact of the matter is that they’re more likely to do it than not.

That’s why Joy Taylor believes Tua should reset the quarterback market.

Talking on FOX’s Speak, she explained that that’s just the way the market works.

If the Dolphins truly believe that Tua is their franchise quarterback, then they must pay him what the market dictates; it’s just standard procedure.

One could argue whether Tua is the best quarterback in the game or whether he should be making more money than one quarterback or the other, but all that talk is futile.

At the end of the day, that’s just the way the NFL market moves.

The next guy always moves the goalpost a little further and sets the following player up to get paid even more money.

That’s why what seems like an overpaid contract today might actually turn out to be a bargain tomorrow.

And when it comes to franchise players, the fact of the matter is that they will always be easier and cheaper to pay in the present than one or two years into the future.

Tua comes with some durability concerns and he might not be a top-tier quarterback.

But if he’s their guy, they need to break the bank.
