Notre Dame QB commit Deuce Knight puts on a show at OT7 Championship

Lucedale (Miss.) George County Top 100 quarterback Deuce Knight showed up and showed out at the OT7 Championship in Tampa this weekend. The 6-5, 205-pounder led the Coastline Stars to the title game before falling to the South Florida Express, who was led by the likes of Florida State quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr., and elite receivers Jaime Ffrench and Vernell Brown III.

Despite the runner-up finish, the Notre Dame commit was outstanding all weekend long.

Knight, who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 66 overall player in the country, No. 8 quarterback nationally, and No. 3 talent in the state of Mississippi, showed off a big, live arm with great mechanics while displaying accuracy with the football. He was named the 247Sports Alpha Dog on Saturday following an incredible performance from start to finish.

“Knight is one of the high-profile quarterbacks that we have had the opportunity to throw multiple times this offseason and Saturday might have been his best performance to date,” wrote 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins. “The No. 8-ranked signal caller in the Top247 led the Coastline Stars to a 3-0 record on the day and was sharp from start to finish. He was at his best when looking to attack the intermediate levels of the field and connected on a half dozen or so out-breaking routes with precision. Knight was also quick to remind everyone he’s an extremely gifted athlete, producing a pair of long gains with his legs after escaping the blitz. The dual-threat talent out of Lucedale (Miss.) George County can certainly be streaky as a passer, but he brought his A-game as we unofficially had him going 37 of 46 passing for 350 yards with 10 touchdowns and no interceptions.”
