It’s a Bedlam Battle for 2025 Four-Star ATH CJ Nickson

CJ Nickson, the No. 1 overall player in the state of Oklahoma in the class of 2025, has offers from all over the country, but it appears that his desire to stay in the Panhandle State will keep him right at home.

The Weatherford (OK) product is listed at 6-foot-6, 235 pounds, and ranks as the No. 9 EDGE and No. 76 overall player in the 2025 class. He holds offers from schools like Notre Dame, Tennessee, Auburn, and Wisconsin.

However, after an announcement on Thursday, he’s down to just two programs: Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Back in April, On3’s Chad Simmons said that the SEC-bound Sooners would be tough to beat for his services.

“Oklahoma is in the driver’s seat for CJ Nickson. He is close to the staff, especially Miguel Chavis, and the Sooners will be tough to beat. It is hard to name another school to watch,” Simmons wrote in April.

SoonerScoop’s Josh McQuistion reiterated that sentiment in May, saying that it feels as if Nickson is most comfortable in Norman.

“It just feels like Oklahoma is where he’s the most comfortable, they’ve pushed for him really hard, they’ve made him a priority since early on. I don’t think there’s another guy in this class I’d be more surprised if he wasn’t part of Oklahoma’s class,” McQuistion said.

If Nickson does indeed choose OU, he would be the 16th member of a class that ranks inside or fringe top 10, depending on the recruiting service you choose. Regardless, his addition will be another big piece for either the Sooners or the Cowboys when he makes his decision in the near future.
