2025 Three-Star DB Ramonz Adams Decommits from Texas Tech

2025 three-star defensive back Ramonz Adams announced on Monday that he would be decommitting from Texas Tech and reopening his recruitment.

Ramonz, a 6-foot-1 defensive back from Texas, originally chose the Red Raiders over offers from nine different programs, including Arizona, Houston, Washington, and more.

Coming out of Bastrop High School in the Class of 2025, Adams is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 801st-ranked player. He also checked in as the 64th-ranked player at his position and the 119th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

Adams announced his decision on social media, saying, “I want to start with THANK YOU to Coach McGuire and the rest of the TEXAS TECH coaching staff for believing in me and being a family also giving me more confidence as a football player. Also would like to thank the Red Raider Nation for the support and great fan base, I wish everyone at Texas Tech nothing but the best. With that being said, I will be DECOMMITTING from Texas Tech.”

While the loss of Adams is sizeable for Texas Tech’s 2025 recruiting class, the Red Raiders have been one of the hottest recruiting teams in the nation this offseason and will look to bounce back with some new names to fill the departure.
