In a recent list from college basketball insider Andy Katz, five new faces in the Big 12 Conference earned praise among the nation’s best.
The list featured five different Big 12 teams, with representatives from West Virginia, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Kansas State all mentioned.
NO. 1 – COLEMAN HAWKINS, KANSAS STATE
The most recent player to commit on the list, Kansas State’s new wing Coleman Hawkins, earned Andy Katz’s No. 1 spot. In 2023, Hawkins posted 12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game while connecting on 25.1% of shots from the field and 36.9% from three. NO. 4 – A.J. STORR, KANSAS
It’s no secret that Bill Self is approaching godfather-levels of dominance in the transfer portal after landing several of the top names since the uptick in transfers, and A.J. Storr headlines an elite group of athletes heading to Lawrence in 2024-25. The 6-foot-7 sophomore averaged 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game at Wisconsin last season, and will ahve a good chance to build on his numbers as a junior.
