Iga Swiatek has a favorable draw in Rome. Sabalenka, ‘uphill’ road

The WTA 1000 in Rome promises to be very interesting, especially in terms of the Roland Garros. At the Internazionali BNL d’Italia there will be only one tennis player to beat: Iga Swiatek, true ruler on clay-courts and great favorite on the eve of the Italian tournament.

The defending champion Elena Rybakina could meet Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-final and, possibly, Iga Swiatek in the final.

Aryna’s draw is not simple, as she finds herself on Ons Jabeur’s side in the Quarterfinals, in a clash that promises to be fascinating.

Swiatek is in the top part together with Coco Gauff (another tennis player who can do very well on this surface) and with the Czech Marketa Vondrousova, possible opponent in the quarter-finals.

In the first round, Paula Badosa (who has just split with Stefanos Tsitsipas) will face the very young Mirra Andreeva and then have a possible second round against Emma Navarro.

Italian Open women’s singles draw

The women’s Tour is experiencing a rather positive moment. One of the best of recent years. At the top there are many top players who can do well. After last year’s semi-final defeat, Swiatek is ready to take revenge and, after the victory in Madrid, she will test her psycho-physical shape in view of Roland Garros.

The final against Aryna Sabalenka provided many emotions and, thanks to the many absences in the men’s tournament, the women’s tournament in Rome is quite eagerly awaited.
