Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is entering a pivotal season that could determine whether he’s a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
In his latest college QB rankings, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler rates Ewers No. 3 in the class behind Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Georgia’s Carson Beck.
“Aside from the numbers, Ewers made noticeable strides between what he put on tape in 2022 and 2023, and it is fair to project another jump in his development this upcoming season,” wrote Brugler. “Ewers has first-round buzz among scouts, although his development in 2024 will ultimately determine where he is drafted in April.”
Last season, Ewers completed 69% of his passes for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 78.3 QBR, the 17th-best in the FBS. He also helped the Longhorns pull off a 34-24 road upset vs. Alabama in Week 2.
