Novak Djokovic has upsetting data for first time in 19 years

Novak Djokovic has not yet won a tournament in 2024, considering that the Wimbledon Championships was his first final of the season, and it is a statistic that worries his fans. In fact, it has not happened since 2005 that the Serbian champion arrived in August without having won a single title. A statistic that highlights the great difficulties that are characterizing his year.

Djokovic can obviously be proud of the result achieved at Wimbledon a few weeks after the surgery on the meniscus of his right knee that he underwent after the injury suffered at Roland Garros, during the match against Francisco Cerundolo. The 37-year-old will now try to focus on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, an event that has been marked on the calendar for a long time. Djokovic’s dream is to win a historic gold medal for his country on the Parisian clay, and to do so, he will have to find his best tennis.

Nole surrendered to Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final, for the second consecutive season. If in 2023, the match was very balanced and the Spaniard triumphed only in the fifth set; this year, things went differently. The Serbian champion never really managed to get into the match and, after losing the first two sets with a double 6-2, he raised the white flag in a tie-break played in a lackluster manner. The defeat against Alcaraz prevented Djokovic from equaling the record of eight titles on the lawns of the All England Club that belongs to Roger Federer.
