Observations from the Jets’ first training camp practice on Wednesday.
Leaping Lazard
WR Allen Lazard had a strong first practice.
Lazard made a nice adjustment on the first pass of the day from Aaron Rodgers and later caught a touchdown in a red-zone period, showing his chemistry with Rodgers.
Get in line
The offensive line is still missing some key pieces.
Starting RT Morgan Moses did not practice at all and RG Alijah Vera-Tucker did not participate in team drills.
This group is going to need time together to jell.
Caught my eye
Rookie CB Qwan’tez Stiggers intercepted a pass from rookie QB Andrew Peasley in a seven-on-seven drill. Stiggers made plays in the spring and that continued Wednesday.
Rodgers went 4-for-9 in team drills.
He misfired on a few passes but finished things off with a touchdown in a red-zone period to Lazard.
He had one bad red-zone period, where he went 1-for-4.
Injury report
Moses worked on a side field with trainers during practice.
Moses is recovering from pectoral surgery.
Vera-Tucker participated in individual drills but sat out the team periods.
He is recovering from a torn Achilles.
WR Mike Williams and FB Nick Bawden are on PUP and worked on a separate field.
