Remember a couple of years ago when a story about a stripper who goes by the stage name “Pole Assassin” was facing legal ramifications after her pet monkey bit a child on Halloween?
Some headlines write themselves.
If you’re a fan of Texas football, you certainly remember this bit: It turns out the owner of the monkey, Dani Thomas, was also dating Texas assistant coach Jeff Banks.
After a while, all of the controversy died down, and the story seemed to fade into obscurity. On top of that, Texas started to win football games again, and in 2023, they made their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.
However, as all things do, Thomas and Banks ended up back in the headlines after another eventful weekend. Except this time, there wasn’t a monkey (to our knowledge).
As it turns out, Banks — now Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Texas — and the Pole Assassin have made it official now after getting hitched this past weekend!
So, let this be a testament to the power of true love.
Love is greater than any job, any situation, any storyline, and of course, any rabid monkey with a taste for human flesh.
