The Green Bay Packers have officially locked in their quarterback for the future.
Jordan Love threatened not to show up until he got a new deal, and what a deal he got.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, they signed him to a 4-year contract extension worth $200 million.
Jordan Love and the Packers have agreed to a 4 year $220M contract, that makes him the highest paid QB in NFL history. He also gets a record $75M Signing Bonus plus $155M in new full gurantees. Deal negotiated by David Mulugheta & Andrew Kessler of Athletes First. pic.twitter.com/dKDtzUrakX

That extension makes him the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.
On top of that, his agents Andrew Kessler and David Mlugheta got him a record-breaking $75 million dollar signing bonus plus $155 million in new full guarantees.
Needless to say, that deal prompted plenty of controversy on social media.

While some fans seem to believe that he’s a great quarterback, making him the highest-paid quarterback of all time might be a bit of a reach.
Granted, this is just the state of the game right now, and whoever signs next is going to break that record.
It’s not that Love is the best quarterback in the game; it’s that he was the latest guy to get paid.
NFL teams are now paying top dollar for a franchise-caliber quarterback, and that market will continue to blow up for as long as they keep pouring in money into the league.
Love looked very, very good in his only season as a starter.
But now, he’s going to have a responsibility to deliver; there’s no room for excuses.
