Jaden Toombs, a four-star prospect in the 2025 cycle, released his final list of five schools that included the Texas Tech Red Raiders, via Joe Tipton.
Alabama, LSU, SMU, and Miami also made the cut for the 6-foot-9 big man, as 247Sports ranks Toombs as the No. 5 overall center and the 47th-best prospect in the Class of 2025.
So far, Texas Tech is the only program that Toombs has taken an official visit with.
On3’s Jamie Shaw released a scouting report on the four-star recruit, noting that “Jaden Toombs is a strong presence on the block. He knows who he is as a player, and he goes out and does that. There is some touch there; he can step out and knock down a catch-and-shoot three.
In regards to what Toombs is looking for in a program, he told On3 “I want to go a school that will play hard and let me be me.”
“Development will be big for me too,” he added. “I would like to go to a place where I can go and use my full skill set while also being able to play really hard.”
The Texas Texas Red Raiders finished the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 23-11, earning a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
