2025 Three-Star DB Chris McCorkle Commits to Kansas

Lance Leipold and the Kansas Jayhawks made a nice addition to the Class of 2025 on Saturday with the commitment of three-star defensive back Chris McCorkle.

McCorkle, a 6-foot-1 corner from Florida, chose the Jayhawks over offers from 29 different schools, including UCF, West Virginia, Florida State, Michigan State, Indiana, and more.

Coming out of Cardinal Mooney High School in the Class of 2025, Mooney is listed as a three-star prospect and the nation’s 574th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the 31st-ranked player at his position and the 48th-ranked player in the state of Florida.

McCorkle originally committed to Indiana on April 26th before decommitting a few months later on June 16th. A multi-sport athlete at Cardinal Mooney, the Florida native played both basketball and football for his school. On the gridiron, McCorkle played both ways on offense as a wide receiver and on defense as a cornerback. In 2023 as a junior, the newest Jayhawk commit posted 14 tackles, nine pass breakups, four interceptions, eight catches, and 186 receiving yards.

With his decision to commit to Kansas, McCorkle became the Jayhawks’ 15th addition to the Class of 2025 and checks in as the team’s third-highest-ranked addition. He trails four-star tackle Juju Marks and three-star quarterback David McComb in national rankings.
