Colorado transfer running back Alton McCaskill will stay in the Big 12 as ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Thursday that he will transfer to Arizona State ahead of the 2024 season.
McCaskill spent one season with the Buffaloes after transferring from Houston. He registered 14 carries for 59 yards before requesting a redshirt in his lone season under Deion Sanders.
In 2021, McCaskill was named the AAC Freshman of the Year after registering 961 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns with the Cougars. He also added 113 receiving yards and two scores through the air.

Arizona State is headed into Year 2 under Kenny Dillingham and will look to improve on a tough final season in the Pac-12 in which the Sun Devils went 3-9.
ASU’s backfield looks to have a pretty formidable duo in the backfield with the addition of McCaskill, as they will also return their leading rusher from 2023, Cameron Skattebo.
Skattebo is coming off 783 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground, and will be a fixture of the offense once again in 2024.
Dillingham and company also added Jason Brown Jr., a four-star prospect in the 2024 class and the highest-rated player in their class.
