Top247 CB Jayden Sanders commits to Michigan

Michigan reached into the state of Texas to grab one of the biggest risers of the 2025 class. Top247 cornerback Jayden Sanders made it official by committing to the Wolverines on August 10 getting his commitment out of the way before his senior season.

At 6-foot-2, 172 pounds, Sanders is ranked as the No. 24 cornerback in the country and No. 29 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports.

The Wolverines have always been a national recruiting brand, so going across the country isn’t out of sorts for their program. What does Sanders bring to the table? We’ve got the details:

WHAT JAYDEN SANDERS SAYS ABOUT MICHIGAN

“The thing that made them right for me is the development of players in my position, the program’s history and the school itself. The players show that everyone has bought into the vision of competing for a top spot. Michigan has one of the best business schools in the country, and with the NFL not being a guarantee, a degree from the Ross School of Business is priceless.”

WHO ELSE WAS IN THE MIX?

Sanders’ father was a star for TCU, and while the Horned Frogs were among his finalists, they took a backseat to programs like Oklahoma State and Baylor. Throughout the spring and early summer, it looked as if Oklahoma State as poised to pull off the win, but Michigan swooped in on Sanders during the summer and were able to get him to Ann Arbor in July to seal the deal.

HOW JAYDEN SANDERS FITS WITH MICHIGAN

A versatile cornerback with size and athleticism, Sanders could play in several different positions within the secondary. Sanders could fit as a boundary cornerback or nickel, but his skillset is best used as a physical presence on the outside who can run with deep threats and play the run on the perimeter.

WHAT WE THINK OF JAYDEN SANDERS

Sanders debuted as a high three-star prospect, but after a strong spring and summer, Sanders jumped into the Top247 landing at No. 214 overall. The 247Sports Scouting Report on Sanders reads as follows:

“Unverified size, but looks tall and wiry on the hoof. Instinctive three-phase playmaker with a strong football pedigree as the son of a former all-conference corner who played on some great TCU late 2000s teams. Three-sport athlete with experience in basketball and track and field that shows in functional athleticism on the gridiron. Elevates in the open floor with above-the-rim finishing ability. Productive in all three phases, including two special teams TDs as a junior. Field-stretching vertical shot threat at receiver. Big-framed corner on D with potential to fit a framey boundary corner role quite well, though skill set and instincts also could fit over the top at safety. Not necessarily a top-end burner but plenty fast with unorthodox gait, but does not get caught from behind. Bona fide Power Four prospect in the secondary. Owns the developmental potential to become a difference maker in college with NFL Draft upside.”
