After taking home Olympic gold in men’s basketball with Team USA, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton took to social media to have some fun after receiving his medal.
The former Iowa State Cyclone posted a photo wearing the medal with the caption, “When you ain’t do nun on the group project and still get an A.”
Haliburton didn’t see the court much for Team USA in 2024, but with players like LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant going nuclear on a nightly basis, the opportunities to see the court were anything but plentiful.
In the gold medal matchup against Victor Wembanyama and France, Curry turned into Captain America and willed his team to win. The Warriors guard connected on eight three-pointers and finished with 24 points on 8-13 shooting from three.
Curry was joined in double figures by Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Devin Booker, with the four players scoring 68 of Team USA’s 98 points. James recorded a near triple-double in the matchup with 14 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds.
While Haliburton may not have been a major factor in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, with his incredible ability to take over games on any given night in the NBA, Haliburton should be competing for Team USA yet again in 2028.
