One of the biggest names in the Class of 2026, Helaman Casuga, has announced his cutdown list of eight teams, three of which are in the Big 12.
Casuaga’s list includes Arizona, Utah, BYU, Auburn, Nebraska, Texas A&M, USC, and Washington.
Coming out of Corner Canyon High School in the Class of 2025, Casuga is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 178th-ranked player. He also checks in as the 13th-ranked player at his position and the fourth-ranked player in the state of Utah.
In a recent interview with 247Sports’ Blair Angulo, the Utah native spoke about each team on his list, speaking highly of each Big 12 program.
“It’s only right for me to keep BYU at my top,” Casuga said on BYU. “Coach Aaron Roderick and coach Kalani Sitaki were the first major offer. My love for football started there, and I always get home vibes when I visit their games.”
“I’ve been recently impressed with the turnaround and improvement, mostly due to a result of the Polynesian pipeline,” Casuga said on Arizona. “Obviously, being Polynesian myself, quarterback Noah Fifita has been an incredible inspiration and motivation for me.”
“Some of my favorite people play there, like former teammate Spencer Fano, Logan Fano, and Isaac Wilson, Causaga said on Utah. “The fan base is electrifying, and if we’re being honest, they are one of the top programs in the country. We plan to go to the Utah game against BYU this season.”
With his junior season kicking off on Friday, August 16th, Casuaga’s timeline remains uncertain. Regardless, his cutdown list is a great sign for each team included.
