Sometimes, NFL players just need a change of scenery to finally hit their stride.
That was a common thought when talking about Zach Wilson.
He failed to play up to the expectations since he entered the league, but it reached a point when it seemed like he was never going to figure things out in New York.
Jets fans had given up on him, and so had the coaching staff, and he just needed to find someone who still believed in him and his ability to become an NFL-caliber quarterback.
Now, with the Denver Broncos, he may not even get a chance to start, but he’s finally found joy in the game again.
According to a report by Zac Stevens, the BYU product is loving life at Mile High, stating that he’s benefitting from a new scenery and a new coaching staff around him.
Zach Wilson is thrilled to be in Denver.
He said he’s feeling rejuvenated since the trade.
“I love a good change of scenery. I think it was good for me. I’m excited to just keep trying to do my best. I’m enjoying being here and being with this coaching staff and team.”

Granted, chances are that Wilson will never play the way he played in college when he looked like a can’t-miss prospect, and the chances of him living up to the expectations that come with being the No. 2 pick are pretty slim.
Even so, he’s still young, so perhaps he could still establish himself as a backup.
As of now, Jarrett Stidham is penciled in as Sean Payton’s starting quarterback, but most people expect Bo Nix to enter the season as the starter.
Wilson has a chance to be the second guy on board, and who knows? Perhaps he could even find his way to the field somewhere else.
