While the jury is still out on where things may fall for five-star shooting guard Isiah Harwell, some recent buzz has been centered around one team from the Big 12 Conference.
Back in June, Hawell released a cutdown list that featured Texas, Gonzaga, California, and Houston. On Sunday, confidence increased in favor of the Houston Cougars.
Despite holding a 33.6% chance of landing the Utah native, the leader in the clubhouse among his four remaining teams, On3’s Jamie Shaw, placed a prediction on Sunday, boosting the number. After placing a 60% confidence pick for Houston to land Harwell, the Cougars now hold an 86.5% lead over the rest of the pack.
Coming out of Wasatch Academy in the Class of 2025, Harwell is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s seventh-ranked player. He also checks in as the top-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Utah.
“It’s Houston,” Harwell told 247Sports’ Dushawn London. “Coach Sampson has been talking with me a lot. QC (Quannas White) also grew up in Idaho, so he’s been contacting me a lot. It’s a good program.”
While Houston will still have to beat out several impressive teams to land the likes of Isiah Harwell, the Cougars are in the driver’s seat and looking to make a big splash in the Class of 2025.
