Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones added a new name to their roster ahead of the 2024-25 season with the commitment of North Dakota State wide receiver transfer Eli Green.
Green, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Minnesota, led the Bison in receiving yards last season while averaging 19.3 yards per catch.
An underrated player in his class, Green chose the Bison over offers from three different teams, including Northern Iowa, South Dakota, and South Dakota State. As a sophomore in 2023, Green hauled in 46 grabs for 887 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 118 yards rushing.
Coming out of Farmington Senior High School in the Class of 2021, Green was listed as a two-star prospect by the 247Sports index. He also checked in as the 409th-ranked player at his position and the 20th-ranked player in the state of Minnesota.
With his commitment, Green became the fifth player to commit to Iowa State in the transfer portal this offseason, joining Wisconsins Dylan Barrett, Eastern Michigan’s Jaylon Jackson, Princeton’s Jalen Travis, Army’s Isaiah Alston, and ULM’s Kenard Snyder.
Green and the rest of the 2024 class of transfers will take the field for the Cyclones on Saturday, August 31st, against North Dakota.
