Jannik Sinner’s improves but his presence at the Roland Garros is in doubt

Jannik Sinner is one of the many absent at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. The Italian champion – so far the absolute star of the first part of 2024 – is struggling with a hip injury suffered at the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters, which forced him to withdraw prematurely first on the eve of the quarter-finals of the Mutua Madrid Open, then on the eve of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. Injury that also put his participation at the Roland Garros in doubt. To try to solve the physical problem, Jannik entrusted himself to the care of specialists at J-Medical, the excellent medical center of the Italian soccer club Juventus.

According to what was reported by Sky Sport, the first checks gave positive results. However, Jannik will have to continuously monitor the joint, which is particularly delicate. The Italian has already promptly started rehabilitation and all the necessary treatments. With him there is also his athletic trainer Umberto Ferrara, who accompanied him to the Juventus structure.

Yesterday I told you about his arrival at J-Medical, where he immediately underwent medical tests to check the condition of his right hip. And therefore, news in the last few hours tells of an improving situation, but one that still needs to be kept under control.

“I will play Paris only if I am 100%,” Jannik said in the special press conference held on the eve of the Italain Open at the Foro Italico. Sinner has not given any type of certainty about his presence in the Parisian Slam.

The truth is that Sinner will have to monitor his condition day after day and any improvements in his hip. As he anticipated, he will not force his recovery time in any way, so as not to worsen his injury and possibly compromise the rest of the season, if not his career. The Roland Garros will start in just two weeks and at the moment it is difficult to make predictions, given the rather tight timeframe.
