Challenge Cup top seed set to be decided

Top seeding for the knock-out stages of the Challenge Cup will be decided on Saturday night with two games bringing things to a close for Belfast Giants and Sheffield Steelers.

The Giants, who host Fife Flyers, need a point to ensure they reach the Semi-Finals as top seeds and their their pick of opponents. It will also set them in good stead to host the final were they to make it that far. Fife are already out of the competition and complete their Cup campaign in today’s game.

Things are a little less straightforward in Sheffield. The Steelers host the Blaze knowing they’ll need a win to take advantage of any slip-ups across the Irish Sea. However, they welcome a Coventry Blaze side to the Utilita Arena that still has a shot at coming second in Group A, or at least making the Elimination Game.
