EIHL Saturday: Full schedule of league action


It’s a full Saturday night selection in Week 12 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season, with all ten teams in league action.

Guildford Flames get us underway at 6pm when they host Glasgow Clan, For the visitors, it’s part of another two-game road trip down south while the arena is in other use in Braehead. Guildford won 5-3 when the teams met earlier in November, while Clan haven’t won in Surrey since March 2022.

Starting at 7pm, Dundee Stars host a Coventry Blaze team they beat in overtime when the sides met earlier this month. Since that game, the Blaze have gone .500 over four games, while the Stars have only a win over Fife in the same period. The teams are separated by five points in the standings, although the Blaze are higher despite having played one game fewer.

Derby night in the Storm Shelter sees Manchester Storm host Sheffield Steelers. In the Cup meeting between the sides, the Storm came out winners in a shootout and go into this trying to stay unbeaten at home to Sheffield this season – but iwth only one win in their last five league fixtures. The Steelers were beaten in Berlin midweek to end their CHL campaign, but are unbeaten in league action since mid-October with only Cup defeats domestically since 10 October.

Belfast Giants head to Nottingham hoping to avoid a repeat of the 5-1 loss they suffered a couple of weeks ago. The Giants played Friday night at home to Guildford, while the Panthers haven’t had a game since going down 4-3 last weekend in Coventry – that defeat coming a night after the same scoreline in losing in Glasgow. The Panthers find themselves on a three-game loss streak, but have won their two previous home fixtures against the Giants 5-1.

The day’s final game gets underway at 7.15pm and sees Fife Flyers home to Cardiff Devils. Having already lost twice in Cardiff this season, conceding five goals each time, the Flyers are on home ice hoping to building on some good recently performances. Tom Coolen’s team picked up an overtime win in Belfast last week before taking Sheffield until the losing stages before eventually losing 4-1.
