EIHL Sunday: Four games on schedule

There’s a four-game schedule waiting for us on Sunday of Week 13 in the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season.

Nottingham Panthers will be looking to make it back-to-back four-point weekends when they host Dundee Stars at 4pm. The Panthers were beaten by the Stars in both of their previous two meetings so far this season, but go into the game off the back of a huge win in Sheffield. Dundee fell 5-2 to Belfast on Saturday night but came out of Sheffield last Sunday with an excellent victory.

Fife Flyers host Sheffield Steelers in Kirkcaldy at 5.15pm with both teams looking to avoid a zero-point week. The Steelers lost their third-straight domestic home game on Saturday against the Panthers, and were beaten in Cardiff on Wednesday night. Fife went down in Glasgow on Saturday and haven’t had a home victory since 5 October.

In Challenge Cup action, Coventry Blaze could put themselves in the driving seat for a place in the Elimination Game if they can get past Manchester Storm. While the visitors can still get 11 points, the combination of teams still yet to play each other makes it impossible for them to stay third and so they are effectively already eliminated. The Blaze would be a point away from making the next round with a win tonight – a result which would also keep their chances of coming second very much open.

The day’s final game starts at 6pm in Cardiff, and sees league leaders the Devils host third-placed Guildford Flames. The hosts are going for a perfect six-point week after wins over Sheffield and Manchester already in the bag, while the Flames are looking for their first points of the weekend after narrowly losing to Coventry.
