Buffalo Bills reportedly could poach Kansas City Chiefs star in NFL free agency

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best rivalries in the National Football League, but the Chiefs have always come out on top when it matters most. Coming off more playoff heartbreak, NFL rumors are already pointing to Buffalo potentially poaching talent from its rival this offseason.

Kansas City has gone all-in for the three-peat, loading up its roster for Super Bowl LIV with the goal of cementing its status as one of the best NFL dynasties ever. Whether they succeed or not, the number of Chiefs free agents in 2025 will make reloading more difficult.

With several starters poised to hit NFL free agency and several of them already expected to depart, reloading this roster was already going to be difficult. Now it appears as if Buffalo could go after Marquise Brown.

ESPN‘s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler wrote that the Bills are a team to watch to sign Brown in NFL free agency this offseason. In fact, multiple people inside the Chiefs organization believe that Bills quarterback Josh Allen has “long wanted” to team up with Brown.

While Brown only played in 2 games during the regular season because of a shoulder injury, he’s been a key part of the Chiefs offense during the playoffs. Patrick Mahomes campaigned for him to come to Kansas City last offseason and the MVP quarterback will reportedly be pushing hard again for the Chiefs to re-sign him.

However, with the emergence of Xavier Worthy and the likely return of Rashee Rice, Brown might be able to find better opportunities in Buffalo. He would also provide a nice complementary weapon for the Bills offense, joining a receiving corps headlined by Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir.

Depending on the contract Brown signs, the Chiefs could receive a compensatory pick if they lose him but it wouldn’t come until the 2026 NFL Draft. However, given Brown is coming off an injury-riddled 2024 season, there’s at least a chance he will return to the Chiefs in 2025 with the hopes of improving his value.
