Five More Contest-Winning Jersey Designs Hit the Ice In the CHL – SportsLogos.Net News

Another crop of winners in the Canadian Hockey League’s annual Jersey Design Contest hit the ice this past weekend, with participating teams stretching from Alberta to New Brunswick.

Now in its fourth year, the contest was open to kids under 16 and accepted entries until the end of October. The contest is sponsored by Real Canadian Superstore, and game-worn, kid-designed jerseys will be auctioned off to support President’s Choice Children’s Charity.

A total of 31 teams across the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League are participating in this year’s contest. The WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings and Kamloops Blazers were the first to debut their jerseys in early January, while five other teams in the WHL and QMJHL debuted their designs in late January and early February.

Here are the latest contest-winning designs to hit the ice:

BRANDON WHEAT KINGS (WHL)

The Brandon Wheat Kings had a nice mix of new and old on their winning jersey design, which they wore on Friday, February 7 against Saskatoon. The black base had the Wheat Kings’ current logo on the chest, while a retro logo repeated above the grey and gold waist stripe. The shoulders were yellow, and a yellow grain elevator sat below the striping on each sleeve.

MEDICINE HAT TIGERS (WHL)

When they played the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday, February 7, the Medicine Hat Tigers took tiger stripes to the next level. Their winning jersey design featured five wavy back stripes outlined in orange radiating out from behind the tiger head on the chest. The sleeves had two black stripes outlined in orange, and the shoulders were orange with a black outline.

RED DEER REBELS (WHL)

The Red Deer Rebels threw it back to their roots with their winning jersey design, which they wore on Saturday, February 7 against the Moose Jaw Warriors. The jerseys used the team’s original black, silver and white colour palette, and even included their original primary logo on the left shoulder. The black base featured white shoulders with a wide silver outline, silver stripes with white outlines on the waist and sleeves, and silver numbers with black and white outlines.
