FA Cup tips: A 40/1 four-fold for Saturday’s matches

Tom Hill’s selections for this weekend’s FA Cup Fifth Round matches include wins for both Man City and Bournemouth.

There are four cracking fifth-round FA Cup ties on Saturday and Plymouth will be looking to pull off another huge upset.

The Pilgrims downed Liverpool at Home Park in round four and Argyle’s reward was a trip to the Etihad to face Premier League champions Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace host Millwall, Burnley head for Preston and Bournemouth entertain Wolves in an all-Premier League tie.

We have a football betting selection in each of Saturday’s four contests.

Saturday FA Cup tips

Crystal Palace to score over 2.5 goals v Millwall @ 9/5

Burnley to win to nil v Preston @ 2/1

Bournemouth to beat Wolves @ 8/11

Man City v Plymouth: Both teams to score @ 7/5

Crystal Palace v Millwall

Crystal Palace are an impressive and progressive team and the Eagles look capable of a high-scoring victory against Championship side Millwall.

Oliver Glasner’s men were fiercely impressive when beating Aston Villa 4-1 on Tuesday night, which made it seven wins in nine games for the south London side.

Palace hit 19 shots and an expected goals figure of 4.31 against the Villans, and if the Eagles are putting up those numbers against Premier League opposition, it could be a tough afternoon for second-tier Millwall.

Preston v Burnley

Burnley’s Championship promotion push has been built on a rock-solid defence and the Clarets robust rearguard is likely to keep Preston at bay in the FA Cup.

Scott Parker’s men have conceded only nine goals in 34 second-tier matches this term and the Clarets also kept a clean sheet when beating Premier League Southampton at St Mary’s in round four of the FA Cup.

Preston have scored only four times in their last six games, the Lilywhites have notched just 19 goals in 17 home Championship matches and Burnley can win to nil at Deepdale.

Bournemouth v Wolves

Bournemouth were beaten 1-0 by Wolves at the Vitality in the Premier League last weekend, but Illia Zabarnyi’s first-half red card cost the Cherries in that contest and Andoni Iraola’s side can turn the tables in the FA Cup.

The defeat to Wolves was only the fourth match Bournemouth have lost at home this season and the other three defeats came against good teams in Chelsea, Liverpool and Brighton.

Wolves have a Premier League relegation battle to consider, which could Vitor Pereira rotate his side on Saturday and Bournemouth won’t need a second invitation to take advantage.

Manchester City v Plymouth

Plymouth will be dreaming of another huge FA Cup upset when they head for Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday evening, and while the tie may prove beyond the Pilgrims, Argyle can be fancied to find the net.

City have kept only five clean sheets in 20 home all-competition matches this season and that’s with Pep Guardiola selecting his first-choice starting line-up.

There is the prospect of changes for this cup tie, and Leyton Orient showed that lower-league opposition can find the net against the Premier League champions when going down 2-1 in the previous round of the FA Cup.Â
