My horses to watch on Day 4 at Cheltenham

The trainer and Betway ambassador picks out his fancies for the final day of the Festival, and discusses Ryehill’s chances for his yard in the Hunters’ Chase.

14:00 County Hurdle

The County Hurdle could easily be a 1-2-3 for the Mullins – both Willie and Emmett. What a strong hand they have got in it. You’d love to have any of them, let alone all of them, so I don’t think they’ll walk away empty handed. With that said, IRISH PANTHER 16/1 could outrun his price. He ran well last time behind McLaurey and has the experience to cope with the hustle and bustle of this race. He could be a sneaky big priced horse to outrun his odds!

16:00 Gold Cup

Friday looks so competitive, but I like the fact they’ve supplemented INOTHEWAYURTHINKIN 13/2 in the Gold Cup. He must have a very solid each-way chance. He was a huge eyecatcher in the Irish Gold Cup and it looked as if he was heading for the Grand National, which he might do, but it’d not the strongest Gold Cup and he could really be in the mix.

16:40 Hunters’ Chase

It’s great to have another runner with a chance this week after Slurricane’s brilliant effort in finishing fifth in the Fred Winter. RYEHILL 9/1 runs in the Foxhunters and while we know he has to improve to win, he impressed us last time and we hope he impresses us again. He’s still improving, but this race is so competitive.

17:20 Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle

RAGLAN ROAD 33/1 will be a massive price in the last, but I liked the way he stayed on last time and he could be improving at the right time in his career for a race of this nature. He’s still unexposed and has the right profile for this race.
