Wow. Week 2 and it’s “There goes the neighborhood” territory in girls’ scholastic lacrosse.
A number of major upsets has scrambled our Top 10 beyond all recognition, to the point where we have a three-loss team at No. 4 in our list. Bethesda Stone Ridge (Md.) may have had a three-game losing streak in the early part of the season, but the Gators have come up with a number of strong results in an extremely challenging schedule spanning five states and the District of Columbia.
Our Top 10 is likely to make a further series of jumps thanks to this weekend’s Spring Fling in Alexandria, Va. as well as a number of interconference fixtures over the next few days.
Stay tuned; this could be very interesting.
