Poor Weather Halts Monday Masters Practice Round

Bad Weather Brings Masters Practice to a Halt

  • The 89th Masters is slated to tee off on Thursday morning at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
  • Scottie Scheffler will attempt to win his third Green Jacket in four years.
  • Practice was called off on Monday as storms were expected in the area, leaving players with one less day to see the course.

The Masters is the biggest event in golf, and the Green Jacket is, arguably, the biggest prize in the sport. Players descended on Augusta National this week to try to get some practice in before Thursday’s tee times.

But the weather gods had other ideas as practice on Monday had to be called off because of poor weather in the area.

Fans Get Refunds for Practice Rounds, Scheffler Gets Out with His Mom

Players got out early on Monday, but everyone had to be pulled off the course at Augusta National by lunchtime with rain and the threat of thunderstorms. Fans (called “patrons”, in Masters parlance) will receive refunds for the suspended Masters practice round.
