Which NFL Teams Draft the best?

Wondering which team is the most likely to hit on their 2025 NFL Draft picks? Check out our index of the best-performing NFL teams during draft season.

The NFL Draft is one of the biggest events in the NFL calendar, and it often comes with a lot of surprises and major dramas! With the 2025 NFL Draft set to take place in April, the Betway team analysed the numbers to create an index of which teams are likely to draft the best players based on their performance in the last 10 drafts.

After crunching the numbers, it can be revealed that the Kansas City Chiefs are the best talent spotters of the last decade, with a score of 55.5. This may not come as a surprise to many, as the Chiefs have selected superstars such as Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones in recent years.

The superstars picked by the Chiefs have helped them become a dynasty, winning an impressive three Super Bowls under Andy Reid while reaching a further two.

Kansas City’s score was boosted by having the second most players picked to make the PFWA All-Rookie Team (13), while they were second in Super Bowl winners drafted too (43). Meanwhile, they also placed in the top five for Pro Bowl players drafted (10), All-Pros drafted (7), and end of season award winners drafted (2).

Despite not having the same level of recent Super Bowl success as the Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys were ranked the second-best drafters in the NFL with a score of 50. The study found that “America’s Team” had drafted the second most Pro Bowlers in the last decade (14) and the joint most All-Pros (9).

When looking at last season’s Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles made the top five with a score of 40.3. With two world championships in the last decade, it’s no shock to see that the Eagles have drafted the most Super Bowl winners in this timeframe (48).

The following table highlights which NFL teams have drafted the best over the last 10 NFL Drafts.

Methodology

We looked at every NFL team’s draft picks over the last 10 Drafts and analysed them based on the following metrics:

  1. End of Season Award Winners Drafted (NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP, NFL Offensive Player of the Year, NFL Defensive Player of the Year, NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, NFL Comeback Player of the Year)

  2. All-Pro Players Drafted (First and second team)

  3. Drafted rookies who have made the PFWA All-Rookie Team

  4. Pro Bowlers Drafted

  5. Super Bowl Winners Drafted

Each team was given a normalized score for each metric. These scores were totalled up and multiplied by 20 to give a final “Draft Score” out of 100.
