Hello, everyone, and welcome to Statwatch.
This week, we shine a spotlight on an interesting statistical occurrence. We have had siblings appear on Statwatch lists in the past, like the field hockey-playing Herbine sisters from Emmaus (Pa.). But how about this? At San Clemente (Calif.), identical twins Charlotte and Sophia Yekulsky have exactly 96 goals each this season as the Tritons have wrapped up their league schedule and will be embarking on a journey through the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
The Yekulskys are not only the goal leaders on the team, but they are also co-captains. In addition, the two of them are aspiring journalists, each working for the school paper.
We acknowledge the fact that our list does have a Sunbelt bias, given the fact that many teams in the Northeast aren’t as far along as the rest of the country. To enhance our coverage, I encourage you and your team to adopt the easy-to-use MaxPreps.com platform, and we encourage you to get your fellow teams to enter their information there as well as whichever is your local news site, so that we can aim for as complete a statistical picture of the country as possible.
What you see below are statistics from available published sources, including MaxPreps, Berks Game Day, the KHSAA, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, PhillyLacrosse, and Advance Media.
