Good NBA players dominate in the regular season, but legends find a way to be their best when it matters the most.
It’s still too early in his career, but Luka Doncic has everything it takes to become a legend of this game, and he showed it again on Wednesday night.
The Dallas Mavericks needed a big performance from their star to get back on top in the series vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Doncic was at his best.
That’s why NBA analyst Jason Timpf gave him his flowers for bouncing back in a big way.
But more than that, he praised him for focusing on what he could control as opposed to constantly whining to the officials or complaining about Luguentz Dort’s physical defense or whatnot (Via The Volume).

Doncic is one of the best players in the game, but he does have a tendency to let outside things get into his head way too often.
He’s been struggling with a knee injury for most of the playoffs, but no one is fully healthy at this point in the season.
Even if that’s the case, champions don’t make excuses; they perform regardless of the situation.
And perform, he did.
Doncic finished the night with 31 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, one block, and five three-pointers on 12-of-22 from the floor.
Also, he only turned the ball over three times in the entire game.
The Mavs are now up by one game as the series heads back to Dallas for Game 6, and they’re just one win away from the Western Conference Finals.
