Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats added a new name to their roster on Saturday with the commitment of JUCO linebacker Kaden McMahan.
McMahan chose the Wildcats over fellow Big 12 rivals Iowa State and TCU and also received offers from Louisiana Tech, Ohio, and Angelo State.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker from Liberty Hill, Texas, saw action in seven games for Tyler Junior College in 2023, recording 29 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble. Tyler Junior College has been a successful pipeline for Kansas State in recent years as the Wildcats hit on prospects like Kobe Savage, Justice James, and more.
Coming out of Tyler Junior College in the Class of 2024, McMahan was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 138th-ranked JUCO prospect. He also checked in as the 16th-ranked player at his position and the 21st-ranked player in the state of Texas.
With his commitment, the Texas native became the Wildcats’ 15th addition in the Class of 2024, joining a cast of three four-star prospects and 12 other fellow three-stars.
McMahan committed to Kansas State after a weekend visit to Manhattan and will take the field as a Wildcat for the first time in 2024 on Saturday, August 31st, against the UT Martin Skyhawks.
