In 2023, Bauer will be back with a refresh on the Vapor line of skates and will soon introduce the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates.
Some of the biggest changes to the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates versus their predecessor are mostly on the exterior portions of the skates. It starts with a visual refresh that sticks with the black, gray, and white look, but also throws in some very small green and red accents.
Moving below the boot of the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates, you will find the brand new Powerfly Holder. According to Bauer, this is their best holder to date and was actually inspired by the OD1N prototype from several years ago. The new holder claims advantages in acceleration by offering a stiffer front region, as well as improvements in responsiveness. The Powerfly Holder will also feature a new line up of steel which has been engineered to stay locked into place better than the previous version, and also helping to improve the durability of the holder.
Out on the front of your foot, the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates will offer a brand new Aerolite 2.0 tongue. The new tongue will feature comfort felt on the inside while maintaining the lightweight foam core.
Down into the outsole of the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates, you will find a Hyperflex outsole which is constructed with a flexible material and placed in the heel of the skate to help maximize acceleration and agility.
Outside of those new features, there are a lot of pieces you may already be familiar with on the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates. It is designed as an elite level or pro level skate, and features a 3D lasted Carbon Curv composite quarter package. You’ll find a Lock-Fit Pro liner on the inside to help wick away moisture but also keep your foot locked into place. Aerofoam Pro ankle pads will add extra cushion and comfort around your ankles, and a Lock-Fit footbed offers additional stability to keep your foot in place. Rounding things out will be the asymmetrical toe cap to help minimize excess space around your foot.
The Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates are going to be sold in senior full and half sizes, 7-12, as well as intermediate full and half sizes 4-6.5. The skates will, of course, be available in each of Bauer’s three different fits, allowing you to get the fit of your choice in the skate of your choice. You will also have the ability to choose your steel runners on the Bauer Vapor Hyperlite 2 skates.
