Expect a cagey contest in Jacksonville

Neither the Cleveland Browns nor the Jacksonville Jaguars were firing on offence in their opening games of the season.

The Browns managed just two touchdowns on home soil in a 33-17 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys, while the Jaguars failed to score a single point in the second half in a 20-17 loss at the Miami Dolphins.

The Browns’ and the Jaguars’ offences both looked rusty in Week 1, and with little time to address the issues, a low-scoring encounter might well be on the cards at EverBank Stadium on Sunday.

49ers can prove too strong for Vikings

Last year’s Super Bowl runners-up the San Francisco 49ers will look to end their miserable run at U.S Bank Stadium when they face the Minnesota Vikings this weekend.

The 49ers have not won in Minnesota since 1992 but they now have a team who can end the long wait for a road victory at the Vikings.

The 49ers impressed at Levi’s Stadium earlier this week to beat the New York Jets 32-19, while the Vikings made light work of the New York Giants with a 28-6 win at MetLife Stadium.

With quarterback Brock Purdy pulling the strings and star running back Christian McCaffrey likely to come back into the side after he was rested against the Jets, the 49ers can cover the spread at U.S Bank Stadium.

More Cardinals woes against Rams

With 13 wins in their last 15 meetings, it’s fair to say the Los Angeles Rams have had the better of their NFC West rivalry with the Arizona Cardinals in recent years.

The Rams suffered a heartbreaking 26-20 overtime defeat at the Detroit Lions last week but can take positives into Sunday’s trip to State Farm Stadium.

Arizona also go into this weekend’s game following a defeat, having suffered a 34-28 loss at the Buffalo Bills.

The last time the Rams and the Cardinals met was in November last year, with LA cruising to a 37-14 victory at State Farm Stadium.

While it is unlikely to be as one-sided this weekend, quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Rams should have enough to overcome the Cardinals once again.

Champions to sink sorry Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals looked pretty toothless in their 16-10 defeat to the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium last week and they might well struggle against the reigning champions the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Failing to score a single point in the first half against a Patriots side who managed just four wins in the NFL last season, it was a poor performance for the Bengals on their own patch.

The Chiefs started their season with a 27-20 home win over fellow Super Bowl contenders the Baltimore Ravens, and Kansas City can secure a convincing win over the Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium.
