The New York Jets have a lot at stake next season.
That’s particularly true for GM Joe Douglas, OC Nathaniel Hackett, and especially HC Robert Saleh.
Saleh’s seat got pretty hot in the offseason, and the way they doubled down on Aaron Rodgers and this roster only made it hotter.
Simply put, it would be hard to justify him keeping his job if the team doesn’t live up to the expectations this season.
With that in mind, the guys at WFAN Sports Radio asked Rodgers about Saleh’s job security — or lack thereof.

Unsurprisingly, he had his coach’s back, stating that this was a reactive business and that it often took time to turn things around and build a winning culture.
He also talked about how teams are often quick to dismiss coaches despite those coaches being in charge of rebuilding teams.
That’s a valid point, but Saleh has been there for a long time now.
Granted, his quarterback situation has been far from ideal, but still, not many coaches would be able to stay in their positions after logging an 18-33 record.
With Rodgers getting back to full strength, the Jets are a Super Bowl contender right now, at least on paper.
Barring injuries, there’s no reason to believe they shouldn’t reach the AFC Championship Game at the very least.
Anything short of that could be considered a major failure, and as such, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if this were to be Saleh’s final season calling the shots in New York.
