Adrian Beltre considered by many one of the most underrated ballplayers in Major League Baseball was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY. He’d be joined along with Todd Helton and Joe Mauer in July Class of 2024.
Here are some of Beltre’s accomplishments. 477 career Home Runs, 3,166 career hits, and Five Gold Gloves. Beltre never seemed to get the quite the attention as other 3B who are in the HOF. Brooks Robinson, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Wade Boggs, Ron Santo, Chipper Jones. Yet he accomplished just as much as these fellow Third Baseman.
What’s sad is other Latin American players were also snubbed by the fame. Among them Davey Concepcion, Omar Vizquel, and another fellow Dominican Tetelo Vargas considered the father of Dominican Baseball.
To add a fine hitting Second Baseman Lou Whitaker was snubbed. That’s so sad. Why? one has to wonder who does the voting!
