Alabama and star general manager Courtney Morgan have agreed to terms on a landmark new deal that will serve as a market resetter for people in the college front office and personnel space.
The Crimson Tide and Morgan have agreed to a new three-year deal that’s expected to pay him around $825,000 per year, sources tell 247Sports and CBS Sports.
USC had targeted Morgan for a president of football role, but he opted to remain with Kalen Deboer and Alabama. Aided by Morgan, the Crimson Tide currently have the second-best 2025 recruiting class in the 247Sports team rankings. It comes after Morgan was DeBoer’s general manager at Washington, where he helped the Huskies reach the national championship game last season. Before Washington, Morgan worked at his alma mater, Michigan, and under DeBoer at Fresno State.
“Courtney is such an important part of our program,” DeBoer said upon hiring Morgan at Alabama. “He has great relationships across the country and is an essential part of helping us recruit and evaluate talent both at the high school level and in the transfer portal. Courtney is an important pillar in what we are trying to accomplish at Alabama and I am very excited to be able to bring him to Tuscaloosa.”
