The Detroit Lions had a tough end to a magical run last season.
After winning 12 games and the NFC North for the first time in the history of the division, the Lions blew a 17-point halftime lead in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers on the way to a heartbreaking 34-31 loss.
All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Lions still have a massive chip on their shoulders after their season ended poorly in the Bay Area.
“Even though we’re not the underdog, we still feel like we are. We still feel like teams think we’re the same old Lions,” St. Brown recently said on “The Pivot.”

The Lions have been a losing franchise throughout their history. Since 2000, they have made the playoffs just five times.
Until last season, they hadn’t won a playoff game since the 1991 season, and they have never played in the Super Bowl.
But now, it feels like head coach Dan Campbell has turned the tide. After being hired in 2021, Campbell guided Detroit to a 3-13-1 record. The following season, Detroit went 9-8 for its first winning record since 2017.
Last year, they took the league by storm and came agonizingly close to making their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
The turnaround is thanks in large part to good players like St. Brown, Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff, Pro Bowl edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson and many others.
It will be interesting to see how the Lions respond after there was seemingly more meat left on the bone at the end of last season that wasn’t devoured.
